Warrington Mot Centre’s Free Tyre check

The legal tread depth limit for your tyres is 1.6mm across the central 3/4 of the tread for the entire circumference of the tyre.

It is best to replace your tyres before they reach the 1.6mm limit. Many manufacturers recommend replacing tyres at 3mm. This is because your braking distance vastly increases the more worn your tyre becomes. For example on wet roads a tyre at 1.6mm will take an additional 8 meters to stop from 50mph compared to a tyre at 3mm.

Remember you can be fined up to £2500 & given 3 penalty points for EACH tyre under the legal limit. Avoid these hefty penalties by coming in for a free tyre check today.
